PIZZA BLEND (Gourmet Blend)

🍕 Pizza Seasoning – The Secret Behind a Great Pie In a true pizza kitchen, flavor starts long before the oven doors slam shut. It begins with seasoning—how it’s layered, how it blooms, and how it brings every element of the pie into harmony. Our Pizza Seasoning was crafted with that exact mindset, inspired by the bold, balanced flavors found in a five‑star Italian restaurant where every pizza was built with intention and pride. This blend is designed to wake up your pizza from the first bite. It delivers that unmistakable pizzeria aroma—the moment when hot dough, bubbling cheese, and seasoned tomato sauce come together and fill the room. Savory, herb‑forward, and deeply Italian, it enhances the natural flavors of your pizza without overpowering them. For homemade pizza, this seasoning truly shines when it’s introduced at the sauce stage. If you’re making pizza sauce from scratch, stir ½ to 1 teaspoon per cup of tomatoes directly into the sauce and let it rest for a few minutes. The herbs and aromatics bloom into the tomatoes, creating a rich, balanced pizza sauce that tastes slow‑crafted and authentic. Short on time? No problem. Add the same amount to any quality store‑bought Italian spaghetti sauce and instantly transform it into a bold, flavorful pizza sauce worthy of the oven.

This is a professional trick used in pizza kitchens to keep flavor consistent and vibrant without long simmering. When assembling your pizza, think in layers—just like a pizzaiolo (Pizza Chef) would. After stretching your dough, brush lightly with olive oil, spread your seasoned sauce, add cheese, then sprinkle a light dusting of Pizza Seasoning over the top before baking. As the pizza cooks, the heat activates the dried herbs, infusing the sauce and cheese with deep, savory flavor. Once the pizza comes out of the oven, finish with a final pinch while it’s still hot.
This two‑stage seasoning method delivers depth first, then aroma—creating a pizza that smells as incredible as it tastes.

This blend is also your secret weapon for everyday pizza nights.   Sprinkle it onto frozen pizzas before baking to instantly elevate flavor, or shake it over a hot pizzeria pie to bump up the Italian character and push it closer to authentic Naples‑style pizza. Just a small amount brings out classic flavors—robust, herbaceous, and unmistakably old‑world—without masking the craftsmanship already there. Beyond pizza, this seasoning is endlessly versatile. Use it in calzone or stromboli fillings, stir it into olive oil for dipping, sprinkle it over garlic knots, or use it to flavor flatbreads and focaccia. Wherever pizza flavor belongs, this blend delivers. From homemade dough to store‑bought shortcuts, this Pizza Seasoning puts the control of a professional pizza chef right in your hands—one shake at a time. 🍕

  • Homemade Pizza Dough with Pizza Blend

    Makes 2 medium pizzas

    Ingredients

    • 3½ cups all‑purpose or bread flour
    • 1¼ cups warm water (about 105–110°F)
    • 2¼ teaspoons active dry yeast (1 packet)
    • 2 tablespoons olive oil
    • 1½ teaspoons salt
    • ½ teaspoon Ham Towne Spicery Pizza Seasoning

    Method

In a bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand 5 minutes until foamy.

Add olive oil, salt, and Pizza Seasoning, stirring to combine.

Gradually mix in flour until a soft dough forms.

Knead on a floured surface for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.

Place dough in an oiled bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 60–90 minutes, until doubled.

Punch down, divide into two balls, and rest 10 minutes before shaping.

    Chef’s Note:
The small amount of Pizza Blend seasons the dough from the inside out, giving the crust subtle aroma without overpowering the toppings.

🍅 Turning Spaghetti Sauce into Pizza Sauce

Works with store‑bought or homemade sauce

    Ingredients

    • 1½ cups spaghetti sauce
    • 1 to 1½ teaspoons Ham Towne Spicery Pizza Seasoning
    • 1 tablespoon tomato paste (optional, for thickness)
    • 1 teaspoon olive oil

    Method

Place spaghetti sauce in a saucepan over low heat.

Stir in Pizza Seasoning and olive oil.

Simmer uncovered for 15–20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.

Add tomato paste if needed for a richer, more concentrated pizza sauce.

Cool slightly before spreading on dough.

    Why This Works:
Spaghetti sauce is made to coat pasta and is usually too loose for pizza. Reducing and seasoning it creates a sauce that clings to dough and bakes cleanly without sogginess.

🍕 Making a Homemade Pizza with Ready‑Made Dough

    What You’ll Need

    • 1 ball ready‑made pizza dough (store‑bought or fresh)
    • ½ to ¾ cup prepared pizza sauce
    • Mozzarella cheese
    • Desired toppings
    • Ham Towne Spicery Pizza Seasoning
    • Olive oil

    Method

Preheat oven to 475–500°F with a pizza stone or baking steel if available.

Let dough come to room temperature, then stretch or roll into a 12–14" round.

    Brush lightly with olive oil.

    Spread sauce thinly—less is more.

    Add cheese and toppings.

Sprinkle a light dusting of Pizza Seasoning over the top.

Bake 8–12 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbling.

Finish with a final pinch of Pizza Seasoning as the pizza comes out of the oven.

    Pizzeria Tip:
Season before baking for depth, then again after baking for aroma—this is how pizza shops build flavor without overpowering the pie.
