Rosemary is an herb that needs little to no introduction for those who know their way in the kitchen. This well-known evergreen shrub is native to the Mediterranean and some Asiatic areas but able to thrive in many parts of the world.
Rosemary is known for its ability to make savory dishes all the more appetizing. Renowned for its fragrant, somewhat earthy scent, it is a staple additive and flavour enhancer for a wide array of dishes ranging from poultry to game.
Rosemary Is great for cooking in soups, meats, stews or sauces. Because the flavor is strong, it's best to add rosemary sparingly at first and more if needed.
Use rosemary to flavor baked fish, chicken, cheese, eggs, fish, marinades, mushrooms, onions, oranges, potatoes, and tomatoes. It's good on winter squash, used in soups, sauces, and with fruits. We also put it on freshly baked breads, in herby vinegars, and make salad dressings with it. It's a tasty addition to lemon flavored dishes as well. Rosemary goes well with apricots, cabbage, chicken, eggplant, eggs, fish, lamb, onions, oranges, tomatoes, veal, and winter squash.
When paired with other spices, Rosemary tastes good with bay leaves, chives, garlic, oregano, parsley, sage, or thyme.
Cut & Sifted herbs are excellent for when you desire the herb to not only lend its flavor to your foods but you also desire to leave little tasty hints of bulk behind like in a gravy or stuffing.
Powdered herbs bring a another level of artistic freedom to your culinary arts. Powders can be more intense in flavor and mix better with liquids and oils. For example you can make a very flavorful broth flavoring or soups. You can use all the great flavors of your favorite herbs without leaving any bulk dried clumps of ground leaves or seeds behind.
